Weekend at Casa Ramon, Dominical Costa Rica
Written by alanp
For those of you out there who like luxury, seclusion and a good time while surrounded by pristine rainforest and spectacular Pacific Ocean views then you’ll probably like Casa Ramon in Dominical Costa Rica. While I was there the only sounds I heard were the majestic Pacific Ocean and the vast multitude of incredible wildlife that surrounds you.
Perched about 90 meters above sea level it has fantastic Ocean views to the south and a not so accessible beach at the end of the road. It took me about 5 minutes to climb down but for about the last 50 meters or so there was no railing which made it quite uncomfortable. It was worth it though as the views along the coastline to the south and east were breattaking; particularly at sunrise as you get to see the sun come up over the mountains throught the rainforest’s morning haze.
The house itself is divided into 3 separate areas, there is a 1 bedroom Casita with King bed and kitchen which stands alone by the gym and then the main house is split into an upstairs and downstairs apartment, each with 2 bedrooms and can sleep up to 6 comfortably. There are a total of 4 kitchens throughout as well as the beginnings of a gym, a Spa, free form infinity pool and a Jacuzzi with plans to add other additions in the near future.
With it’s proxomity to Corcovado National Park it is an ideal location for people who don’t want to spend a night in the jungle.
Casa Ramon: Amazing Rental in Dominical

Casa Ramon is the most amazing home I’ve been to in Costa Rica. The attention to detail is impeccable. Casa Ramon consists of three separate living spaces, the Grand Vista Apartment, the Deluxe Suite Apartment and Casita Ramon. Each space can be rented separately or the house can be rented as a whole.
If you choose to rent just 1 living space the owners will not rent out any of the others to ensure maximum privacy. Personally, I prefer the Deluxe Suite Apartment the most and would suggest this over the other two spaces if someone is only looking to rent one of the three. Because Casa Ramon is about 10 minutes south of Dominical, a rental SUV is pretty much a necessity although I don’t think many guests will stray too far from the house considering it’s so amazing. The home is top-notch with all of the finest furnishings and appliances and would satisfy even the most discriminating client. The owners built this home as their vacation retreat when they’re not working in the United States so they were sure to do it right. My only criticism is that I would have liked to see a larger pool but, other than that, his house is perfect!
"I want to live in Casa Ramon!!"

My boyfriend and I stayed at Casa Ramon for 4 nights in early July and after reading the only other review on this property, I wanted to confirm everything that was written about this luxurious home! And personally, I found the staff of Casa Ramon, simply the best. They cared deeply that our stay was comfortable and were completely genuine in their desire to please us including accommodating every request we had related to specific meals, a variety of fresh juices each day (even from fruit we purchased along the road) to being very supportive and helpful as I practiced speaking Spanish during the stay. It is helpful if you speak Spanish, at least a little, but if you don ’t, it’s a terrific opportunity to practice and learn.
Another point I’d like to make is that from this property you see views of the ocean, mountains, beautiful Toucans that visit Casa Ramon each day and numerous other birds that are magical – you feel a genuine connection to nature and the beauty of the Dominical and Costa Rica. The property is also ideal for large families, multiple small families or a close group who enjoy sharing parts of each day while having large, separate live and sleeping spaces as well. And it’s quite romantic with large showers, jacuzzi tub, outdoor jacuzzi, huge wrap-around balcony’s, private spa room and extensive outdoor gathering and dining areas.
Finally, the most seasoned traveler who is accustom to 5 Star hotels and/or who lives in a multi-million dollar home will be extremely comfortable at Casa Ramon! Casa Ramon is an amazing, new custom home with extensive granite and marble throughout, as well as special wood floors, air conditioning, great furniture, architectural/design treatments, interesting and wonderful art work as well as quality large/flat screen TVs and wireless internet to ensure that those who are accustom to, and prefer such things, are completely at ease and comfortable. I want to live there!

Overlooking the ocean is a hidden gem - Casa Ramon. It's a luxurious, high-style and one-on-one service oriented "luxury home" that's presented as a boutique experience. As someone who's traveled to over 60 countries and has experienced quite amazing places, if you're looking for a truly unique, private, not pretentious and personalized place to relax, unwind, enjoy nature while living in elegance and style and having the finest of creature comforts - Casa Ramon is THE place. I found it accidentally through a friend who lives in the area and could not have been more pleased with everything. Also, I won't name names, but some of Hollywood's A-list celebrities and movie power-brokers have vacationed here or made a home-base at Casa Ramon as they scouted for real estate to buy. I can understand why. While the Domical area remains a magnet for serious surfers, adventures and eco-types - those who have outgrown sleeping on the beach and in hostels will find an oasis of calm, luxury, simplicity and incredible peace at Casa Ramon. |
